Late returns and extensions
The following describes how a delayed return is handled, and how to plan ahead if more time is needed.
Grace period
Whether a grace period applies before late fees begin, and its length, is set by the Provider and shown in the Provider's terms for that listing.
Late fees
Late fee structure is set by the Provider. For significant delays, requesting a formal extension in advance is generally preferable to arriving late without notice.
Requesting an extension in advance
A confirmed Booking cannot be changed. Where additional time is anticipated, contact support as far in advance as possible, as described in Minimum Rental Duration and Availability. Any additional time is subject to the vehicle's availability and the Provider's approval.
Unreturned vehicles
A vehicle that is not returned, where the Member cannot be reached, is treated as a serious breach of the rental agreement and may result in the full deposit being retained, along with escalation, including reporting the vehicle to local authorities as required by law.
