Security deposits
Every rental of this caliber calls for a measure of protection. The initial security deposit or pre-authorization is collected together with the quoted invoice that confirms the Booking, and further holds or charges may be applied by the Provider or payment processor during or after the rental. Whether the deposit is a hold or an actual charge depends on the Provider, and the applicable method is disclosed before payment is made.
Deposit amounts
Deposit amounts are set by each Provider and scale with the vehicle's value. The exact amount is displayed on the listing and again before payment.
Release timing
Release timing depends on the bank, payment processor, and the Provider's own policies, including their post-rental inspection process. Superkeys is not responsible for delays caused by third-party financial systems. Disputes about a deduction from a deposit should be raised directly with the Provider.
Circumstances resulting in a withheld deposit
- Damage to the vehicle beyond normal wear
- Excess mileage beyond the included allowance
- Missing fuel, as described in Fuel Policy
- Unpaid tolls or fines incurred during the rental
- Cleaning charges or smoking violations
- Late return
- Other breaches of the Provider's rental terms
Reducing deposit requirements
Deposit requirements are set individually by each Provider. Insurance arrangements, where offered by the Provider, may affect the deposit amount on certain listings.
