Taxes and additional fees
Beyond the daily rate, a handful of additional charges may apply depending on location and the options you select, always disclosed well before payment.
Local taxes
Rental taxes and VAT or GST are set by local jurisdictions and vary by country and, in some cases, by city. These are calculated automatically and displayed in your price breakdown prior to payment.
Common additional fees
- Airport surcharge, applied at certain airports
- Young or additional driver fees, where set by the Provider for a specific vehicle category, as described in Minimum age and license requirements
- Cross-border fee, applicable if you drive the vehicle into a neighboring country, which must be authorized by the Provider in advance and is not included by default
Fee transparency
Provider-specific charges, including taxes, airport fees, delivery fees, mileage surcharges, insurance charges, and seasonal adjustments, are disclosed before you confirm payment. Additional post-rental charges can still apply, such as damage, mileage overage, tolls, fines, cleaning charges, and fuel discrepancies, as described in Security deposits.
