Damage waivers and liability
Liability for damage, and any waiver or coverage that reduces it, is a matter between you and the Provider.
Reviewing coverage and exclusions
Waiver and coverage terms, including what is and is not covered, are set by the Provider and disclosed on the listing or in the Provider's own terms. Review these carefully before you submit a Booking Request, as exclusions and conditions vary by Provider.
Determining fault and damage cost
Providers may rely on photographs, video, inspection forms, mileage records, and incident reports when assessing damage. Inspect the vehicle thoroughly before and after use and document any pre-existing damage, as described in Pre-rental vehicle inspection. If you fail to report visible issues before use, it may affect the outcome of a later dispute.
Disputing a damage charge
We are not a party to disputes between you and a Provider about vehicle condition or damage, and we do not adjudicate such disputes. Raise these directly with the Provider. Our customer support can help facilitate communication but does not guarantee a particular outcome.
