Key terms
The following defines terms used throughout this help centre.
Member
You, as a registered user of the platform who searches, books, and rents vehicles from Providers.
Provider
The independent business that owns or supplies the vehicle or service you book. Providers set their own pricing, terms, and insurance arrangements, and fulfill your Booking.
Booking request
Your initial request to rent a specific vehicle for chosen dates. It does not commit you to a charge and can be cancelled freely at any point before you pay the resulting invoice.
Booking
A Booking Request becomes a confirmed Booking only once the Provider confirms availability, issues a quoted invoice, and you pay it. Once confirmed, a Booking cannot be changed, only cancelled, as described in Cancelling a booking.
Quoted invoice
The invoice the Provider issues once they confirm availability for your Booking Request, covering the rental cost and any applicable security deposit or pre-authorization. Paying it confirms your Booking.
Security deposit or pre-authorization
An amount collected alongside your quoted invoice to cover damage, excess mileage, fuel discrepancies, tolls, or other breaches of the Provider's rental terms. Whether it is a hold or an actual charge depends on the Provider, as described in Security deposits.
Self-drive vehicle
A vehicle you drive yourself, requiring you to hold a valid, unrestricted driving license acceptable to the Provider.
Chauffeured service
A service where a driver supplied by the Provider operates the vehicle instead of you, as described in Choosing self-drive or chauffeur.
