International members and foreign licenses
We welcome Members from around the world. The following outlines requirements when your license was issued outside the rental country.
International driving permit
If your license is not in the local language, or in English in most markets, you need an International Driving Permit alongside your original license. International Driving Permits are issued by your home country's motoring authority, so arrange yours before you travel, since it cannot be obtained on short notice while traveling.
Countries with additional requirements
Certain countries require you to hold a local translation or notarized copy of your license if you are a foreign Member. This requirement varies by country, so confirm it with support or the Provider before you travel.
Identity verification
As an international Member, you complete the same identity verification process described in Verification Requirements.
Booking from abroad
You can search, book, and verify entirely online before you travel. You must complete identity verification before submitting a Booking Request, so if you are arriving internationally, complete it well in advance to avoid delays at pickup.
